Stranger Foods: 80s Cookbook Last updated: 7 September 2026
This Privacy Policy applies to the Stranger Foods: 80s Cookbook mobile application (the "Application"), provided by Lanchas Dev (the "Service Provider"). Contact: lanchasdev@gmail.com
The short version: the Application collects nothing. No accounts, no advertising, no analytics, and no requests to any server of ours — because we do not run one.
1. What the Application stores, and where
Your progress through the cookbook, the recipes you have unlocked or marked, and your settings and language are written to your device's own storage and stay there. Nothing is transmitted, there is no cloud save and we hold no copy. Deleting the Application deletes it.
2. Network activity
The recipes, images and text are bundled inside the Application, so it works offline. The Application contacts no server of ours and contains no advertising, analytics, crash reporting or remote configuration.
Two things can still reach the network, and only because you set them off:
- Opening a link. If you tap a link that leaves the Application, your device opens it and the site at the other end sees an ordinary web visit, including your IP address. That is a visit to someone else's site, governed by their policy, not ours.
- Read-aloud. If you use the read-aloud feature, the text is handed to the speech engine built into your device. On iOS that engine speaks on the device. On Android it depends on which engine you have installed and how it is configured: some, including Google's, may send the text to be synthesised on a server. We do not choose that engine and we do not receive the text or the audio.
3. Permissions
The Application does not ask for the camera, the microphone, your location, your contacts, your photos, your health data or notifications, and it does not read your advertising identifier.
4. Third parties
The Application integrates no third-party analytics or advertising service. Apple and Google know that you downloaded it, as they do for every app you install, under Apple's and Google's own privacy policies. We receive nothing from them beyond aggregate download and crash statistics that identify nobody.
We do not sell data. We have none to sell.
5. Data retention and deletion
- We retain nothing, because we receive nothing.
- Delete everything on iOS: delete the Application from the Home Screen or from Settings → General → iPhone Storage.
- Delete everything on Android: Settings → Apps → Stranger Foods → Storage → Clear data.
- Support emails. If you write to us, your message and address are kept for at most 6 months, unless a legal obligation requires longer.
Your rights
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object to the processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority — in Spain, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (www.aepd.es).
In practice there is nothing here to exercise them against: we hold no data about you, so there is no record for us to show you, correct or erase. Everything the Application knows is on your device, and deleting the Application deletes it. We say this plainly rather than reciting rights we have no data to honour.
Children's privacy
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Because the Application collects nothing, there is nothing about a child to collect. If a parent or guardian still has a concern, write to lanchasdev@gmail.com.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy — most likely because the Application starts doing something new. Changes take effect when the revised version is posted, with a new "Last updated" date. If a future version ever begins collecting data, this page will say so before that version reaches you.
