Grandpa's Kitchen: Merge Cook Last updated: 7 September 2026
This Privacy Policy applies to the Grandpa's Kitchen: Merge Cook mobile application (the "Application"), provided by Lanchas Dev (the "Service Provider"). Contact: lanchasdev@gmail.com
The Application has no accounts, no login and no registration. It shows no advertising and has no in-app purchases, so no advertising identifier is read and no payment detail is ever asked for. It sends one thing and one thing only: anonymous usage statistics, described below, which you can switch off.
1. Information collection and use
The Application relies on one third-party service: PostHog, our product analytics provider, on servers located in the European Union. There are no advertising networks and no other analytics.
We do not collect personally identifiable information. We collect anonymous usage data about how the game is played, described in section 2.
2. Usage analytics
Analytics here has one level, and it is anonymous. There is no second, identified tier that consent could unlock, because nothing in the Application identifies you.
- No profile is created. The Application is configured so that PostHog never builds a person profile from these events — not for an event we send, and not for one the SDK sends by itself.
- There is no account, no login and no email, so there is nothing for a profile to be about.
- Events are grouped under a random identifier generated on your device on first run. It is not the advertising identifier, it does not travel between apps, and it is erased when you clear the app's data or uninstall.
What is recorded. A fixed, closed list of game events: the tutorial being started, stepped through and finished; your first merge and first recipe; merges that succeed, fail or are gated; recipes discovered; chef level-ups; hints used or bought; levels started, completed or abandoned; chapters unlocked and the story finished; the daily craving being started, guessed, solved or failed; notification permission, scheduling and taps; and a few technical signals telling us a save failed to load or storage broke.
What travels with each event. Technical context — app version, operating system, device model and type, language — and your progress in the game: how many recipes you have discovered, your chef level, which world you are in, whether the story is done, cravings solved, your daily streak and your coin balance. That is game progress, not personal data, and it is there so we can tell whether people get stuck at a particular point.
What is never recorded. There is no free-text field in the Application and none is collected. No name, no email, no contact details, no advertising identifier, no precise location, and no screen or touch autocapture — screen views are only sent for the screens we listed deliberately.
IP address. Like any request over the internet, these events reach PostHog from your IP address, and PostHog derives an approximate location from it — at the level of country and city, not an address. We do not store the IP itself and we do not use it to single anyone out.
3. Turning it off
Go to Settings → Privacy → "Anonymous statistics" inside the Application and turn it off. That is a real switch, not a display preference:
- It stops our events immediately.
- It also stops the events the analytics SDK emits on its own — application installed, opened, updated, backgrounded — including on the next launch, before anything can escape.
- Your choice is stored on your device and survives restarts.
Because these statistics are optional and anonymous, they are declared as optional in Google Play's Data safety section and in Apple's App Privacy. That declaration is only honest if the switch works, which is why it is built to cut the connection rather than to hide the toggle.
4. Notifications
The Application can remind you when your energy has refilled. Those reminders are scheduled on your device. The Application obtains no push token, there is no notification server and we cannot send you anything. Declining the permission costs you the reminders and nothing else.
5. What the Application stores, and where
Your saved game — progress, recipes discovered, coins, streak, settings and your analytics choice — is written to your device's own storage. There is no cloud save and we hold no copy: if you delete the Application, the save is gone and we cannot restore it.
6. Third-party data sharing
The only recipient is PostHog, which processes the events of section 2 on our behalf and under our instructions only, never for its own purposes. We do not sell data and we share it with no one else. There are no advertisers involved, because there is no advertising.
7. Data retention
- Analytics events held in PostHog are retained for 12 months from collection and then deleted.
- Your saved game stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall.
- Support emails. If you write to us, your message and address are kept for at most 6 months, unless a legal obligation requires longer.
8. Data deletion and user controls
- Stop the statistics: Settings → Privacy → "Anonymous statistics".
- Clear all local data — Android: Settings → Apps → Grandpa's Kitchen → Storage → Clear data. This also erases the random analytics identifier.
- Clear all local data — iOS: delete the Application from the Home Screen or from Settings → General → iPhone Storage.
- Uninstalling stops all future collection.
9. Your rights
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object to the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time.
An honest limitation applies. The data in section 2 is anonymous: it carries no name, no email and no profile, and the only thread through it is a random identifier held on your device. We therefore cannot find your events among everyone else's, and the law does not require us to collect more data about you just so that we could. The effective controls are the switch in section 3 and clearing the app's data as described in section 8. For anything we can act on — a support email, for instance — write to lanchasdev@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. In Spain, that is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (www.aepd.es).
10. Children's privacy
The Application is a cooking puzzle game suitable for a general audience. It collects no personal data from anyone, children included, and it shows no advertising. If a parent or guardian has a concern, write to lanchasdev@gmail.com.
11. International data transfers
Analytics data is processed within the European Union.
